Service line 03 · Pet Training

A calm dog.
Quietly trained.

You don’t need a tactical dog — you need a calm, reliable companion. We teach the foundations the same handlers use on the working dogs. Patiently, kindly, with the lead and treats your dog already knows.

Four stages · one calm dog

How we work with you.

From the first phone call to ongoing support, the journey is laid out so you always know what’s next — for you and for your dog.

Stage 01

Vet referral & first contact

Behaviour cases come to us via your vet. For training enquiries, get in touch directly — we’ll take a short brief and route you to the right programme.

Stage 02

Booking your slot

Pick a date that works. We confirm by email with a short pre-class checklist — what to bring, what to expect, what your dog will need.

Stage 03

In-person consultation

A handler meets you and the dog. We watch, we ask, we plan. By the end you’ll have a clear, written plan — and the first homework in hand.

Stage 04

Ongoing support

Group classes, private follow-ups, and check-in calls. Training is a habit, not an event — we stay in touch for as long as you need us.

For pet owners

Same handlers. Different setting.

The people who train working dogs train family dogs the same way: patiently, calmly, and with a clear plan you can keep up at home. The setting changes; the standard doesn’t.

Kind methods   Force-free, reward-based, lead-and-treats only.

Family-first   Kids welcome — training runs around your household.

Honest pace   Six weeks for foundations. Months, not days, for behaviour change.

Common questions

Tap to reveal.

A handful of things first-time owners ask. Anything missing — pick up the phone, we’re friendly.

How old should my puppy be?

We take puppies from 8 weeks for foundations and socialisation. Earlier is better than later — the first weeks set the habits.

What if my dog is reactive?

We take vet-referred behaviour cases — reactivity, resource guarding, separation. One-to-one, structured, kind.

Do you use treats?

Yes. Reward-based, force-free, lead-and-treats only. The same methods we use on the working dogs.

Can my kids come?

Absolutely. We run sessions around your household — children, partners, grandparents, all welcome.

Where do classes happen?

Across our Dunfermline (Scotland) and Wimborne (Dorset) bases. Private lessons and consultations can travel to you within reason.

Refunds & rescheduling?

48 hours’ notice for a no-cost reschedule. Refunds are case-by-case and we’re reasonable.

Adult dog · still learn?

Yes. Adult dogs learn well — they just need a clearer plan. We’ve worked with dogs from 8 weeks to 12 years.

Working dogs & pets?

Yes — the same handlers, the same standards, scaled to your household. The setting changes; the work doesn’t.
